Yang Han was born and raised in Tianjin, China. She received her B.S. in China Agricultural University and got her PhD in Tsinghua University under the mentorship of Professor Anming Meng. Yang did research of developmental biology using zebrafish and mouse embryos during graduate studies. Now she joined He Lab to investigate the role of retrotransposons in rnouse preimplantation deve|opment and look into how transposon domestication yields new functiona| elements in the host genome. Outside the lab, Yang enjoys painting, planting and nail art designing.
